Complications of hypertension

Hypertension is a very insidious disease, which is very dangerous for its complications. Many people think that hypertension causes only headaches, but it is not so. Unfortunately, these headaches, hypertension and various complications caused the development of other diseases.


The most frequent complications of hypertension are myocardial infarction, stroke, heart failure. Complications of hypertension lead to malfunction of vital organs - heart, kidneys, eyes, central-nervous system, vascular system.

One of the most common and dangerous complications of hypertension, doctors believe hypertensive crisis. It is a sharp increase in blood pressure, which is accompanied by severe headache, weakness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, falling vision, impaired speech, amplified heartbeat. Hypertensive crisis can be lasting from 2 minutes to 2 hours. In this state, the patient requires emergency medical care. Sharply lower the pressure is strictly prohibited, it could lead to brain hemorrhage and death. The cause of a hypertensive crisis is most often stress, changing weather conditions, alcohol abuse. No wonder these factors, doctors recommend to avoid high blood pressure.

Modern scientists have found that hypertension can cause complications such as impotence in men. Statistics states that 45% of male hypertensive patients aged 40 to 79 years suffer from impotence due to the fact that even aching hypertension they abuse alcohol and do not give up smoking.

Timely diagnosis and treatment of hypertension reduces the risk of complications.
